Aragon pole position for Maverick Viñales
Maverick Viñales will start from the pole position to battle for the win at the third home GP tomorrow at Motorland Aragon.
The protégée of Sito Pons, Viñales achieved the fastest time of the qualifying practice session this afternoon, held at the Motorland Aragón circuit, which this weekend celebrates the fourteenth race of the season.
The rookie of the Páginas Amarillas HP 40 team secured his the first pole position of the season on a track where he has felt very comfortable from the first session on.
After the first day, the team made some amendments this morning, which – based on the outcome achieved – seem to have worked very well.
The weather forecast indicates that tomorrow’s race could be held in the wet, forcing the teams to start their preparations from scratch and rendering the work done so far pretty useless.
Maverick’s teammate in the Páginas Amarillas HP 40 team, Luis Salom, has also done a very good job and has earned the fifteenth fastest time, allowing him to start from the fifth row of the grid.
Luis has a good pace for the race tomorrow, which leaves him confident that he recover positions and get a good result.
