After 3 seasons together as Team LaGlisse in the Moto3 world championship, team director Pablo Nieto will leave the team after the GP in Valencia.

The decision to go separate ways was mutual between himself and team owner Jaime Fdez-Avilés, and Team Calvo has wished Pablo the best for his future projects.

His position will be filled by his brother, Gelete Nieto, who also comes with a wealth of experience after leading his own team, first in MotoGP then in Moto2.

Team Calvo will be the official Moto3 factory team of Husqvarna from this coming season on, and already confirmed as rider is Isaac Viñales with whom the team hopes to be fighting for the title.

During the next few weeks the second rider will be announced.

Jaime Fdez-Avilés (team owner)
“These years with Pablo in the team have been incredible. We’ve grown continuously in the championship and together we could win the Moto3 world championship. In the name of the entire team, and more over on a personal level, I’d like to thank Pablo for all his hard work and wish him all the best for his future projects. The relationship with the Nieto family remains fantastic, and with the reinforcement of Gelete Nieto, the team will be in a strong position to fight for the objective we set ourselves for next season with Isaac Viñales and Husqvarna, namely to gain the Moto3 world championship title for another year. For now, we’ll continue to concentrate on the current championship though.”

Pablo Nieto (team director)
“I’d like to thank the team, and especially Jaime Fdez-Avilés, for these three years that we’ve been working together. They’ve been three great and unforgettable years. It’s been an incredible experience, I’ve learned a lot, and we also managed to win the championship together. Therefore I’ll always be grateful to all of them and they will always be like a family. But we still have four GPs to go, in which I hope we can share some more joyful moments and celebrate more podiums together.”
