Páginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Maverick Viñales achieved the fourth best time in the qualifying session of the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Viñales will start from the first slot of the second row of the grid, the same place from where he started last weekend at Phillip Island where he earned his third victory of the season. The race is scheduled for a total of nineteen laps.

Maverick failed to improve his fastest time from the morning session during qualifying, but still secured a good position on the grid to fight for victory.

He will use the final pre-race session, the warm-up, to keep working and polishing some details that allow him to go into the race even better prepared.

It was more difficult for his teammate Luis Salom, who has had to settle for the sixteenth fastest time. Salom will start from the sixth row and has to try and make a good comeback that allows him to finish in the top ten.

Maverick Viñales – 4th place – 2.07.754
Today was difficult. I don’t know why but I wasn’t comfortable with the bike at the start of the session. We have lost a great deal of time with this problem. We worked well and we can be there, but we still have work in the morning warm-up. We had problems with grip and we have to fix it tomorrow.

Luis Salom – 16th place – 2.08.398
This morning we tried a few things that we didn’t like and it’s gone pretty bad. On this circuit, the asphalt is very hot and if you don’t have grip you struggle to set a good time. In the afternoon we returned to the setting from yesterday afternoon but have not managed to find a good lap and ended sixteenth. If we’d found that little bit extra, we could have ranked higher but we have not coordinated well with the team and I had to try and set my own time.
