Bad weather played a key role during the last two days of the IRTA pre-season tests at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.

Both yesterday and today, the rain and the cold hindered the work of the Páginas Amarillas HP 40 riders at the Cheste circuit.

The track temperature was constantly below ten degrees and spoiled the planned work of the protégées of Sito Pons, reducing the activity to just one day of a possible three available to them in these first preseason tests.

Despite having done only few laps, both Rins as Salom leave Valencia with good feelings and rate this first contact with the team after the winter break as very positive.

Alex Rins – 6th place – 1.35.630
“Of the three days of testing we could only really make use of the first. Both yesterday and today it’s been been raining and although it sometimes stopped, the track didn’t have time to dry off. In addition, the temperature was very low and these conditions interfered with the test program we had planned. We decided not to take risks and wait for next week to continue adapting to the Kalex bike. I’m happy despite not being able to ride a lot, because the feeling was very good and every day I have more fun with this bike.”

Luis Salom – 7th place – 1.35.687
“We could only ride on one day so we couldn’t really make much progress with the work. The feeling with the bike is very good and at least we were able to regain the feeling for the Kalex after not being able to train with it this winter. It was very cold on the track and the results are not really conclusive. Next we go to Jerez where the weather seems to be better and and we will keep working.”
