Hector Barbera leaves Sepang in command of the Open class
Avintia Racing team has successfully completed the last three days of testing in Malaysia.
Hector Barbera got the benefits of all the information from the first test in Sepang and felt much more comfortable riding his Ducati Desmosedici GP14 Open.
During the morning time attack he was able to do some fast laps that gave him the eight fastest time on the combined time sheets for the three days of testing, but the Spanish riders worked very hard with his team to improve his race pace. With a track temperature of 58 degrees he made a race simulation in two parts with excellent results.
Avintia Racing team will return to action next month in Qatar for the last three days of the winter tests before starting the season under the floodlights of Losail International Circuit.

We have made a great job and overall we are very happy, but even more because if we compare with the last test, we have improved a lot our race pace. We new that we had some margin to make a fast lap, and made one lap is always more easy than making a race simulation with good consistency, even more in a track like this with extreme conditions. I start to feel this is my bike and also the team has high motivation, good harmony and everybody is doing a great job. If we have to mark the performance of the team at Sepang 1 then we gave ourselves a five. But at this test we have improved a lot, so we can give ourselves an eight. The target is to be the first Open and we did it, but been ahead of some Factory bikes is always a good motivation.
