67 thousandths. That is the tiny difference that stopped Isaac Viñales from reaching his first pole position in the Moto3 World Championship. However, his second position in the qualifying practice at Qatar is an excellent result for the Husqvarna Factory Laglisse, that faces tomorrow’s first race of the season with winning chances.

Drafts at Losail’s straight have been crucial when trying to score good lap times. Isaac was very smart in this aspect, and managed to gain a few positions during the last minutes of practice. Today’s result is a great motivation for a race that, regarding the results during practice sessions, will be very even.

María Herrera keeps progressing in Qatar, and today she rode nine tenths quicker than during the free practices. The Toledan is confident about improving even more at tomorrow’s warm-up, in order to reach the race in the best conditions.

#32 Isaac Viñales – 2º / 2’06.237
«I completed a good lap, because I found a good draft that in the end is what made me be quick enough. I face the race relaxed because I’ll start from the first row, which is good for the first laps. I feel quite comfortable with the bike and my riding, we’ve been able to fix my weaknesses and tomorrow we’ll improve what’s left. It will be a group race and we’ll have to fight until the end. I go along with being on the podium tomorrow».

#6 María Herrera – 32ª / 2:09.431
«Today went better, since we improved our time in almost one second. Yesterday I struggled a bit, in the next GPs I need to work harder during the free practices. For tomorrow I’m hoping to keep improving my time during the warm-up in order to be more ready for the race. Getting more confident with the track and the conditions was the key to improve. I would like to be closer to the top, but it’s difficult and we need to keep working. Tomorrow I hope to be in a group where I can learn for coming races».
