Efren Vazquez makes it a Leopard double podium at Barcelona
Leopard Racing’s Efren Vazquez made it a double podium for the team today in Catalunya, with third place – Danny Kent taking the top step.
Efren was fighting for victory in his home race but the Spaniard made the mistake to enter the final lap in first position. Nonetheless, Vazquez is happy with his comeback on the podium in third place as he regained confidence for the next races after two DNFs in a row for him.
The Moto3™ World Championship now moves to the North of Europe for the historical TT Assen in the Netherlands in two weeks’ time.
#7 Efren VAZQUEZ – 3rd, World Championship position 4th (76 points):
“First of all today’s third place is a very important result for me to regain confidence after two difficult races in Le Mans and Mugello. Beyond that maybe we had the chance to win this race but finally I wasn’t focussed that much in this point because I just tried to keep my performance on the same level during the entire distance and I also was trying to do my best to finish in the top five which would have been a good result for us. However, during the final lap I did a mistake when I was entering turn one in first position. But in the end we collected 16 points for the championship and we have one podium more to our hands now. I think we recovered well and all is set to continue in this way in the next races. I’m pleased with that, thanks a lot to my crew.”
