Due to two crashes right after the lights went out at the Brno circuit at lunch time today the race was re-started for a twelve lap’s stint in which Efren Vazquez lost a possible rostrum finish on the line.

Otherwise than throughout the practice days weather conditions were slightly changed with less hot temperatures but a dry track after some overnight thunderstorms today.

Leopard Racing’s Danny Kent and Efren Vazquez were amongst the big front group with up to ten riders, who crossed the finish line within 1.5 seconds finally. But neither five times winner this season and dominant championship leader Kent nor Vazquez were able to set the pace at the fierce end due to several reasons.

However, Vazquez put in all his experience and efforts to catch third placed Brad Binder just before the line, but he as well as Kent were lacking acceleration throughout the shortened race distance.

After the back-to-back races in Indianapolis and Brno this weekend the Moto3™ World Championship takes a two weeks break now before heading to Great Britain later this month.

#7 Efren VAZQUEZ – 4th, World Championship position 5th (109 points):
“Well, I think fourth place isn’t a bad result because we collected 13 important points for the championship and we could reduce our gap to the guys ahead of us. But I’m a bit disappointed because we delivered a strong and consistent performance all weekend. So I expected to be able to fight for the podium more clearly. But during all these hard fought battles for positions I made two mistakes with other riders for which I lost too much time in the end. At this point I’ve to admit that we need to work more on engine side of our bike, particularly for fast circuits like this. I don’t know the reason if it’s due to the weather with this warm and hot temperatures. Anyway, it must be the main point where we need to try something for the next races, because already at Silverstone we see a super-fast layout again.”
