Tito Rabat bounced back to form today at Brno to claim his sixth podium finish of the 2015 season. While the reigning Moto2 World Champion was unable to challenge for the win at the Czech Grand Prix, today saw another strong and consistent performance from the Spaniard.

Rabat started from the front row but a big slide on third lap of the race allowed Johann Zarco to open a small gap at the front that, despite his best efforts, the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider was unable to close over the course of the 20-lap race. In the final stages Rabat held off a strong challenge from Álex Rins to claim second place at the chequered flag, elevating him back to second place in the championship standings, one point ahead of his compatriot.

Álex Márquez had the best race so far of his rookie Moto2 campaign, finishing an impressive fourth after starting from the third row of the grid. Márquez was confident coming into this weekend at Brno, one of his favourite circuits on the calendar, and that confidence proved well founded with a strong performance in qualifying followed by his best race result since stepping up to the Moto2 class.

Fourth place today moves the Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider into the top ten in the Moto2 World Championship standings for the first time this year.

Tito Rabat: 2nd
“This weekend has been a good one for us, as we’ve improved the bike and my feeling with it a lot, but we still need to find a little more, especially on corner entry, if we are to be in a position to fight for the win once again. We’re close, so we need to continue working, but it’s good to come back to the podium again here at Brno, after such a good job from the team both here and in Indianapolis.”

Álex Márquez: 4th
“At Indy we were making steps all weekend and we knew that coming to Brno, one of my favourite tracks, that we had a good opportunity. In the first laps I lost a little bit of time passing other riders and without that maybe we could have battled with Tito. In the end I’m really happy with fourth position here, after some difficult races this season. I want to thank all the team for their work this weekend and I’m confident that this is the way we will continue for the next races. I’m still a rookie in this class, but we made a step here and now we’re ready to take the next.”
