Alex Rins two thousandths off second pole of the season, Luis Salom places 12th
Páginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Alex Rins was just two thousandths of second away from taking his second pole position of the season at Qualyfing Practice of #SanMarinoGP.
Rins imposed a great pace frome the beggining of the practice, lapping again and again under the pole record, that was held by Pol Espargaró. Sito Pons’ rider lead the timing until the last seconds, when Zarco set his best time. The French rider improved Rins best time by 0,002 seconds.
Rins will start tomorrow from the second place on the grid and he will look for his second victory of the season. This way he could maintain the podium steak started at Sachsenring. For his part, Salom took the 12th place, 8 tenths away from Rins.
2nd ALEX RINS
“We started the qualyfing so strong and with a very positive attitude. That’s why we were so fast from the beggining. The most important thing is that we set a good pace. Lap by lap I felt comfortable and strong. Tomorrow is the most important and I hope it will be fun. We are ready to work for the victory.”
12th LUIS SALOM
“To be honest this morning I didn’t feel at one hundred per cent with the bike. We did a couple of changes. We knew that we must change some things on the bike that would help me. In the afternoon we improved the time and this help us and calm down us, because we know that we can get a good result. I start from 12th position but I know we can ride on the points. It will be important to have a good start and keep bright during the first laps. It’s a track where hundredths are important and it’s difficult to recover time”.
