Efren Vazquez takes fourth place at Aragon
Slightly changed weather conditions with somewhat of cooler temperatures during the race were no reason for the wild Moto3 pack to fight for glory in their hardest way today at Aragon with a huge group up to ten riders in the front group.
Efren Vazquez benefited somehow from the crashes in front of him in the leading pack to come home in a fine fourth place but the experienced Spaniard wanted more today.
The Moto3™ series takes a two weeks break now before the paddock goes overseas for the annually Asia-/Australia tour, starting with the Grand Prix of Japan early in October which marks the home round for the team’s Hiroki Ono-San.
#7 Efren VAZQUEZ – 4th, World Championship position 6th (129 points):
“So thirteen points for the championship, this of course is the positive thing after this race. But on the other hand I’m a bit disappointed because during the entire race distance I had a disadvantage in acceleration out of every corner. We were able to set up the bike perfectly, I was strong on the brakes and I could fight for positions, as well as our pace was high, but I missed something in acceleration today. So I’m not pleased with that. Overall, it’s mixed emotions because to finish the race in fourth you should be happy with as well as I was fighting for a possible podium finish. But if you came home in fourth because some other rider made a mistake it’s difficult to agree with.”
