From the first row of the grid, Alex Rins started this morning looking to add another podium finish to the nine achieved in his rookie season on Moto2.

Rins didn’t make a good start and lost several positions in the first corners. He completed the first lap in fifth place and then he was trying to chase Luthi and Zarco who began to put distance with the chasing pack.

Rins overtook Folger and Nakagami and to tried to increase the pace and reduce the gap with the leaders of the race. But the distance between the top two and the duo formed by Rins and Folger increased gradually. With this race situation and with ten laps to go, Rins went down when he passed over a bump while was braking for turn nine.

Alex got a zero for the championship with this fall and he will go to the last GP of the season, held in two weeks in Valencia, with eight points over Rabat, his rival on the fight for second place.

His teammate in the Páginas Amarillas HP 40 Luis Salom made a good career, going sixth from the thirteenth place in the starting grid.

N.C. Alex Rins
“I didn’t start very well and I had to force in the first two laps to gain positions. Then I took third place and tried to go for Luthi and Zarco. but they had a very good pace and I couldn’t chase them. Then I knew I had Folger behind me and I was quiet, but then I took a bump when I was braking for turn nine and I have gone down. It’s a shame not to finish the weekend with a good result after the work we’ve done in the box. Now we go home and I’m already looking forward to the race in Valencia.”

6th Luis Salom
“At the start Sha touched me and I almost went down. I lost several positions on the next lap when Corsi passed me and got me outside the track. From there I started doing my pace. I’m happy because the first laps were quite difficult but then I could do my pace and recover positions. We’ve made a sixth and a good comeback but the truth is that we lost the weekend yesterday when we made a thirteenth after making fourth in the morning. “
