Efren Vazquez taken out of Sepang race by his own teammate
The penultimate race this season got underway according to the slightly changed time schedule for race day at the Malaysia Grand Prix today at lunch time with Efren Vazquez suffering a disastrous end to his Sepang race weekend, when he was crashed into by teammate Hiroki Ono.
The Grand Prix paddock heads back to Europe now for a two weeks break before Valencia will host the season’s finale for the final shootout in the Moto3 category.
#7 Efren VAZQUEZ – NC, World Championship position 6th (155 points):
“It’s really difficult to explain my feelings about what happened today. The first target was to win the race. If I wouldn’t have been capable of it than I would like to help Danny to secure the title today at my utmost. However, the race was gone for me pretty early when my teammate Hiroki hit my rear. After a good start I was thinking all the time about the overall standings just to avoid any mistake by myself, but I’m so sorry for Danny and the entire team that we lost this great opportunity to decide the championship at this place because Hiroki pushed too much till the worst case happened. For sure I’m not happy about all happenings during this weekend. It’s sad to conclude these great oversea races with this disappointment.”
