Qualifying practice for the final round of the FIM CEV Repsol took place today in hot and dry conditions. The Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana brought together more than a hundred riders representing twenty seven nationalities, all with the same idea: posting the quickest time to give them the best possible slot on tomorrow’s grids in the final Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship, Superbike European Championship and Kawasaki Z Cup races of the season.

In the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, as in Jerez, Nicolò Bulega (ITA-KTM) again improved on the best pole time, held in this case by Gabriel Rodrigo. The VR46 rider completed 18 laps during the first session, with a fastest lap of 1:39.334, which gives him front slot on the grid. Other riders with a best time in the 1:39s in the first sessions were Joan Mir (SPA-KTM), now riding a KTM in view of his debut next season in the MotoGP™ World Championship, and the Laglisse Academy duo Albert Arenas (SPA-Husqvarna) and Lorenzo Dallaporta (ITA-Husqvarna) who start tomorrow in second, third and fourth place respectively. The superb new champion of the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup and newcomer to the FIM CEV Repsol, Ayumu Sasaki (JPN-Honda) takes the sixth slot, with Arón Canet (SPA-Honda), still suffering from the foot injury which prevented him from racing in Jerez, in seventh place on the grid.

In the morning qualifying session of the Moto2™ European Championship, ten hundredths separated the leader of the overall standings Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex) and his closest rival, Xavi Vierge (SPA-Tech 3). Then in the second practice the Targobank Motorsport destroyed Hafizh Syahrin’s best lap time by more than a second, confirming his position at the front of the grid, where he is joined by Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex) and the quickly adapting Lucas Mahias (FRA-Tranfiormers), on only his second outing of the season. Good times were also posted by Eric Granados (BRA-Kalex), Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex) and Alan Techer (FRA-Tech3), who make up the second row. Of the Superstock 600 riders, Marcos Ramírez (SPA-Yamaha) once again stood out.

First thing this morning current Superbike European Championship champion Carmelo Morales went out hard to notch up the quickest time as the only rider to lap in under 1:36. However, during the second session Robertino Pietri (VEN-Yamaha) also went under one minute and thirty-six seconds and in the end chalked up a quicker lap than his rival, taking his first pole of the season and leaving the Laglisse Yamaha rider to start from second place. Maximilian Scheib (Chi-BMW) once again stood out among the privateer riders and completes the front row.

There were significant results in the Kawasaki Z Cup, where the champion will be decided by tomorrow’s race. For the first time this season Victor Lozano took pole position, with current leader in the overall standings Joan Sardanyons and Daniel Carrau also on the front row.

From Spain, the races can be seen live via the MotoGP Channel of Movistar+ which will broadcast all of the races scheduled in the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and Superbike European Championship categories. The Energy channel of Mediaset Spain will also cover the FIM CEV Repsol, broadcasting both the Moto3™ Junior World Championship races, the first Moto2™ European Championship race, and the Superbike European Championship race. BT Sports (UK) and Eurosport through Eurosportplayer (France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland), will also offer coverage of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and Superbike European Championship races, with live broadcasts of all of the races scheduled for this weekend on one of their TV channels or via digital broadcast. In Italy, Sky will broadcast live both races of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship and Moto2™ European Championship. DigiSport has joined the television networks interested in the FIM CEV Repsol and in Romania and Hungary, will broadcast all the Moto3 ™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and Superbike European Championship races.

Race highlights will have a global reach through FOX (Asia and Australia) and ESPN Deportes (Latin America).
