Alex Rins smashes Austin lap record to take Moto2 pole
Alex Rins got the pole position and beat the Austin track record by more than a second. The Spaniard started the third race of the season on an almost perfect way. The Páginas Amarillas HP40 rider also made the fastest time in both practice sessions on Friday.
Austin is a track that Alex Rins really likes. Last year he got his first podium in the category, and yesterday he shattered the record, improving by more than a second the best lap on this track on a Moto2.
Alex achieved his best time (2:08,850) on his fourth lap and will start from the first position. The race will take place at 6:20 pm (UK time)

“I am very happy with this pole position. We have done a great job with the bike and I felt very comfortable from the first moment. I came out determined to get the best time and we have achieved. Tomorrow will be a difficult race because Sam and Zarco are very strong, but this is a track that I love and where I’m having so much fun, so I’m prepared to dispute the victory. “
