Joan Mir set for fightback from 8th row of French grid
It will be an uphill struggle for the rookie Joan Mir at tomorrow’s French GP. The 18 year-old Palma de Mallorca tried a different frame setup during FP3 but it did not yield the desired results.
Going back to his previous setting, the young Spaniard committed 100% to the time attack, but suffered a fall (without consequences) that sent him to 24th on the grid.
Riders will take to the track at 08:40 local time (GMT +2) on Sunday for 20 minutes of Warm Up. Then at 11:00 the lights go out for the fifth round of the 2016 World Championship.
#36 Joan MIR – 24th (1’43.766):
“It was a very difficult qualifying for me. I have not found the right feeling with the front and we have little rear grip. The fall made things even harder. I have full confidence in my team. Tomorrow we have to do a great race.”
