Joan Mir qualifies an excellent tenth at Mugello
Saturday in Mugello hosted two sessions which saw the protagonists of the Moto3 calls emerge, first in Fp3 and then in Qualifying later in the afternoon. The scene was set to decide the grid for the 2016 Italian Grand Prix, the sixth round of the World Championship.
The 5245m of the Tuscan track host the three Leopard Racing team riders who did their best to make the most of the sun and increasing track temperatures.
The Christian Lundberg led team had Joan Mir leading them, the rookie producing a great time of 1’58.151 which saw him take tenth spot on the grid as the session came to an end. Perfect strategy paid off the Spaniard.
Riders will take to the track at 08:40 local time (GMT +2) on Sunday for 20 minutes of Warm Up. Then at 11:00 the lights go out for the sixth round of the 2016 World Championship.

“I am very happy today, to do a good time here and enter the race towards the front gives you the chance to fight with the leading group. Already in FP3 we had taken a step but I did not have a good feeling with the bike. The last chance I had I used the slipstream a bit to improve my time. I have to thank my team for improving the bike and getting me in the Top10. “
