Qualifying was hit by rain during its final minutes, making for a highly tactical session. The 4.5kilometers of ‘The Cathedral’ saw the three Leopard Racing riders feature towards the front of the field.

Saturday was a bit complicated for Joan Mir, the Moto3 rookie out on track to try different solutions and setups. The work of the young Spaniard continued in Qualifying where he ended in 18th. Unfortunately he will start in 21st due to exceeding the 100% lap time limit while in Free Practice 3.

Riders will take to the track at 08:40 local time (GMT +2) on Sunday for 20 minutes of Warm Up. Then at 11:00 the lights go out for the eighth round of the 2016 World Championship.

#36 Joan MIR – 18th (1’43.368):
“Today for me it was all a lot more complicated, I have not felt comfortable on the track, especially with the front of the bike. We may not have implemented the right strategy in qualifying, but we must remain calm for tomorrow and try to reassemble.”
