Weather conditions were a key factor in the German Grand Prix which was played out yesterday at the Sachsenring. From early in the morning it was raining on the German tarmac and it didn’t stop until past noon.

From the first row of the grid Páginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Alex Rins completed a good first lap occupying the second position just behind Nakagami.

During the sixth lap Nakagami went down. Then Rins started leading the race and he was increasing the gap with Folger, Zarco and Morbidelli.

Morbidelli overtook Rins and lead the race for six laps until he fell. Then Zarco was placed first with Folger and Rins behind the Frenchman. Rins was third and he was recovering the distance with Folger. The Spaniard went down under braking for Turn 1, taking his first zero points result for the standings this season.

On the other side of the box the Páginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Édgar Pons has achieved his first two points in a very difficult race.

Alex Rins | NC
“I felt very comfortable with the bike. I started well and I rode behind Nakagami. I was quiet, so when he fell I continued my pace. After a moment my visor screen started to tarnish and everything got complicated. At the end, with three laps to go I went down. Zarco has won and has opened gap in the standings. We are now 25 points and already thinking about starting to recover that distance. “

Édgar Pons | 14th
“At the beginning of the race I was in a group in which I had a touch with another rider and I went out. I concentrated on catching the pace and go away recovering. In the end I got two points, I expected a better result but it is a starting point for the next races to reduce the lead with the front “.
