Miguel Oliveira takes 18th spot on Austrian grid
Saturday was a hard day for the Leopard Racing team at the Grand Prix von Osterreich, the tenth round of the Moto2 World Championship. On the Spielberg circuit, Miguel Oliveira and teammate Danny Kent finally found ideal weather conditions today to push their Kalex machines, making the most of the data they collected while testing.
Miguel was unable to confirm the feeling he had found on Friday but this morning the talent of Pragal showed a good feeling with the Austrian circuit, honing his Kalex for the race. In the decisive session of qualifying the Portuguese 21-year old suffered vibrations that prevented him pushing to the limit, ending 18th overall with a lap time of 1’30.308.
Tomorrow at 09:10 Local Time (GMT +2), the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of warm-up before the lights go out at 12:20 Local Time for the tenth race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.
#44 Miguel OLIVEIRA – 18th (1’30.308):
“This morning I was comfortable here with the bike, despite yesterday already feeling some small vibrations. Unfortunately, the problem became acute in Qualifying. We have to analyze what happened and why the first releases of the weekend had been positive. We will start further back tomorrow, but we will give my best as always.”
