Jorge Martin hoping for strong Brno weekend
The positive part of having back-to-back races is always the opportunity to either continue good form or quickly forget a bad result.
The Czech Republic GP is close to the last round in Austria, both in terms of time and distance, and the likes of series leader Brad Binder, who extended his advantage with second place at Spielberg, or debut winner Joan Mir, make the journey in high spirits whilst Jorge Navarro, for example, must pick himself up after a crash saw him drop back to 67-points adrift of the South African in the championship.
Nineteen laps around the Brno circuit on Sunday is the next challenge for the Moto3 class.
Mahindra Pull&Bear Aspar Team rider Jorge Martín celebrated his best finish so far in Austria with a sixth place he would love to repeat or better this weekend. The Spaniard is confident in the material that Mahindra are putting underneath him, which allowed him to produce such a strong performance last Sunday.
Last season Martín beat his Italian team-mate Pecco Bagnaia by just 0.095 seconds as the pair crossed the line just under six seconds behind the race winner – a gap both riders are determined to reduce this time around.
Jorge Martín:
“I especially like the Czech Republic GP. We have got the bike how I like it now and I think we have good material at our disposal so I am sure we can have a strong weekend at Brno. We go there on the back of my best ever result in the World Championship with my sixth place in Austria so I am keen to either repeat that or improve it on Sunday.”
