A complicated first day at the Octo British Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the 2016 World Championship, for the Leopard Racing Moto3 Team. On the 5.9 km historic Silverstone track, the three riders struggled to find the ideal setup in today’s two sessions.

After a day, Joan Mir was the best placed rider, 16th in the final combined times thanks to a 2’16″517. Eighth in FP1 in the morning, the rookie of Palma de Mallorca in the afternoon made a longer run, saying he was satisfied with the work undertaken. His goals are long term, not one off hot laps.

Saturday opens with the third and final free practice session, anticipating the afternoon show of official qualifications that decide the starting grid for the Moto3 class of Grand Prix of Great Britain 2016.

#36 Joan MIR – 16th (2’16.517):
“It was not bad in FP1, but we were quite far from the leader. We improved some aspects and we followed this direction, although today the result is not exceptional. But the best time came with a tyre that I used with 25 laps. Tomorrow we continue to work hard with the suspension to find the ideal setup for qualifying tomorrow.”
