Miguel Oliveira lines up 15th on Silverstone Moto2 grid
A horrendously wet qualifying on Saturday afternoon for the Octo British Grand Prix, the twelfth round of 2016. On the 5.9 km historic British circuit of Silverstone, the Leopard Racing riders of the Moto2 class highlighted their skills and their sensitivity on the wet asphalt in the decisive stages of the session, one which caught many other unaware.
Miguel Oliveira set the 15th best time in Moto2 Qualifying after a fall at the start of the session. Thanks to the intervention of his team, which put his Kalex back on track within just a few mintues, the talent of Pragal could start hammering the track once again and soon improved his time.
Tomorrow at 09:30 Local Time (GMT +1) the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of warm-up before the lights go out at 14:00 for the twelfth race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.
#44 Miguel OLIVEIRA – 15th (2’29.173):
“The whole day did not begin very well, already this morning I went in the wet grass and fell. In the afternoon in the wet I was immediately at ease, I was fast from the start of qualifying. But the grip of this track with the rain is minimal. In fact many have fallen, including myself. Then the team did an amazing job on the bike, allowing me to go out after a few minutes. I needed a few laps to regain confidence and I improved my time on the last lap when the rain became heavier. We start from the fifth row, we’ll have a race on the attack.”
