Sixteenth on Misano grid for Joan Mir as he ponders “disastrous” Qualifying
There will be war tomorrow, this is the verdict from the second day at the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini, the thirteenth round of the season 2016. The three riders of Leopard Racing team worked hard on the 4.2 Km Misano World Circuit ‘Marco Simoncelli’ all day.
In 16th place – a row behind the top placed Leopard rider Andrea Locatelli is teammate Joan Mir, the undisputed star of the first session who demonstrated commanding pace.
Unfortunately, the rookie from Palma de Mallorca did not found the same feeling in the afternoon session, slowed by a technical problem with his airbox. Tomorrow the Spaniard will aim to attack in the race.
Tomorrow at 8:40 Warm Up will begin, a preview of the thirteenth race of the 2016 season that will start at 11:00 o’clock.
#36 Joan MIR – 16th (1’43.291):
“It was a disastrous qualifying for me, starting with the airbox problem. Moreover, even with the chassis I did not feel at ease. We did not touch anything, but it was like riding another bike. Now we will need to find the ideal solution for tomorrow.”
