Saturday was a busy day in the Leopard Racing Moto2 team garage. Miguel Oliveira improved both times and performance, also improving feeling with the Kalex on 4.2 km of the Misano World Circuit, the theatre for the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini 2016.

Miguel Oliveira will have a delayed start tomorrow from the eighth row of the grid of the intermediate class, posting the 22nd fastest overall lap time with a 1’38.885.

The Portuguese rider, who last year climbed on to the second step of the podium in the Moto3 class, this morning could shave precious tenths and close in on the leaders. Unfortunately, however, a change before qualifying forced him to adopt an all-attack mode for Sunday’s race, the change proving incorrect.

Tomorrow at 09:10 Local Time (GMT +2), the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of warm-up before the lights go out at 12:20 Local Time for the thirteenth race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.

#44 Miguel OLIVEIRA – 22nd (1’38.885):
“It was a disappointing qualifying, we made a change to the bike but instead of improving, it made things worse. This morning I had a good pace, even alone and on used tyres. It was reasonable to expect more. The change is evident, when there is more grip on the asphalt, the front wants to close more. Tomorrow will be an aggressive race, I want to get into the points.”
