The FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship at Le Mans

 In JuniorGP, News

The FIM CEV Repsol travels to France for the third round of the season at the Le Mans Bugatti track, with only the Moto3™ riders taking part. It will certainly be a memorable experience for the young riders of the FIM Moto3™ Junior World Championship as the race coincides with the MotoGP™ World Championship on the occasion of the HJC Helmets Grand Prix de France.

Yuki Kunii (Asia Talent Team) will be defending his position as leader of the category against Xavier Artigas (Leopard Impala Junior Team) – who trails by only a single point – as well as other close rivals such as Barry Baltus (Sama Qatar Angel Nieto Team) and Jeremy Alcoba (Laglisse Academy), third and fourth respectively and both tied on 41 points to the leader’s 45. Ryusei Yamanaka (Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) is fifth with 37 points.

In Estoril Baltus took the first win of the FIM CEV Repsol season, with Kunii and Yamanaka earning their first victories in the double race program in Valencia. Le Mans will be a new challenge for these young riders, as it is a circuit they do not know as well as others on the calendar where they have ridden more often. Aleix Viu (Sama Qatar Angel Nieto Team) was poleman last year with a time of 1:43.082, going on to win followed by Raúl Fernández and Ai Ogura – both of whom are currently competing in the MotoGP™ World Championship in Moto3™.

The first qualifying session will be held on Friday from 12.00 to 12.50 and the second from 16.05 to 16.55 for this third round of the FIM Moto3™ JWCh.

The timetable for Saturday’s race is as follows:

Moto3™ (17 laps) 16.30
