Suzi Perry to launch Two Wheels for Life Instagram takeovers
Two Wheels for Life, the official charity of MotoGP™️, have announced the launch of a series of Instagram takeovers designed to offer fans exclusive access to some of racing’s biggest stars during the coronavirus lockdown.
With all MotoGP race action currently suspended due to the COVID-19 crisis, Two Wheels for Life are launching the series as a way to offer fans the behind-the-scenes access to MotoGP they are famous for, but from the comfort and safety of your own sofa.
The series will start with a day-long take-over of the Two Wheels for Life Instagram (@two_wheels_for_life) by much-loved BT Sport MotoGP presenter Suzi Perry on Friday 1st May.
Starting at 10:30am, Perry will be interviewing some of MotoGP’s biggest names to get the latest gossip, including factory Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci and Red Bull KTM Tech 3 boss Herve Poncheral, who in his role for the International Race Teams Association has been heavily involved in MotoGP’s proposed contingency plans for the 2020 season. Perry’s fellow BT Sport presenter and former MotoGP and British Superbike rider Michael Laverty will also join her for a chat.
All interviews will be conducted LIVE on the Two Wheels for Life Instagram page and there will also be a series of free giveaways and offering up some unique experiences.
One such experience will involve presenting the opportunity for a budding sports journalist to interview Perry herself live on the feed. Anyone who is aged 13-25 can enter and all they have to do is email their reasons for wanting to do the interview and a list of questions they’d like to ask to info@twowheelsforlife.org – More information can be found here.
Perry will also launch a new Two Wheels for Life social media challenge – in which fans are tasked with getting kitted up in all their bike gear as quick as possible on camera, posting the video on social media, donating £3 (or more) to Two Wheels for Life’s COVID-19 Appeal and then nominating their friends to do the same.
Following the Instagram take-over, Perry will offer fans the chance to join her for a drink at sundown as she hosts an exclusive video call featuring guests such as Julian Ryder and Michael Laverty. Tickets for the Sundown Drinks are available through Two Wheels for Life’s website here.
Suzi Perry:
“We are all missing MotoGP a lot, so it’s great to be able to offer fans the opportunity to get behind-the-scenes from the comfort of their own sofas by heading to the Two Wheels for Life Instagram.Herve Poncheral is always a brilliant interview and Ducati MotoGP rider Danilo Petrucci never fails to make everybody laugh, so I can’t wait to introduce them and Michael Laverty who will offer some great insight too. We’ll also have some surprise guests up our sleeves too!”
Donna Leonard, Head of Events Two Wheels for Life:
“We’ve always offered fans exclusive opportunities to get behind the scenes of MotoGP and we don’t want to stop that just because there’s no racing yet. We’re excited that Suzi Perry is launching our Instagram take-over series and that she’ll be joined by MotoGP royalty throughout the day. There’ll be exclusive prizes up for grabs and an opportunity to get involved in a new fundraising campaign, so although there’s no action on the track there will be lots of MotoGP fun to be had while helping in the race to save lives!”
Andrea Coleman, CEO Two Wheels for Life:
“We are so delighted to have the support of Suzi to raise money for our COVID-19 appeal. Now we just need you. Even by joining in our Instagram take-overs you’ll be helping some of the poorest and most isolated communities in Africa. Motorbikes can save lives, so can you.”
