1st and 2nd for Marini and Bezzecchi in Misano

Another special Sunday and the 56th podium in the history of the Sky Racing Team VR46 at the San Marino GP with a beautiful 1-2 signed by Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi.

Among the strongest guys from the first free practices, very fast in qualifying and today both at the start from the front row riding the WithU Motorsport and Hyundai liveries, they set their pace by distancing their rivals in the initial stages of the race. Protagonists of a beautiful battle in the last laps, between overtaking and counter-attacks, they crossed the finish line in the wake of the other, finishing in first and second place.

With the points scored today Luca is in first place in the general ranking (112 points) while Marco climbs the standings up to the third place (85 points). Leadership in Team ranking is confirmed with 197 points overall.

Luca Marini:

A great race, we really enjoyed the battle with Marco. I had a great feeling all weekend, the Team did a great job, we were both fast and competitive. I did well in qualifying and in the race, except for the neutral at turn 14, everything went in the right way.

Marco Bezzecchi:

I am very happy with this podium at my home GP, I had a great start and I tried to give my best, but Luca was very fast. We had a good fight, but he had something more and in the last laps. We have been competitive all the weekend, the Team has done a great job and I can’t wait to get back on track next Friday.
