Bendsneyder finishes in the points zone in #SpanishGP, Lüthi 19th
Bo Bendsneyder finished the fourth round of the season in 15th position despite severe pain in his right arm throughout the weekend. The Dutch rider suffered a lot in the last ten laps of the race, but he managed to cross the finish line in the points area. Bo will undergo several tests tomorrow at the Dexeus Clinic by Doctor Mir to try to solve the problem with his right arm.
Tom Lüthi, who started from the ninth row on the grid, could not improve a nineteenth position in the Spanish Grand Prix. The Swiss rider will try to reset his mind next week by training hard together with his team in Barcelona and thus face Le Mans with renewed energy.
The next race of the Moto2 World Championship will take place at Le Mans circuit for the Shark Grand Prix de France the weekend of May 16th.
Bo Bendsneyder:
“It was a really tough race. We already knew before the race that I would struggle with my arm. The Clinica Mobile and my team did a great job to help me with the position on the bike and to give me good massages to make me feel better. The last 10 laps were really tough, especially on the right corners. I had no power and I cannot ride how I wanted. At the end we took one point. It’s not so bad. The feeling with the bike was good so I’m happy about this. Big thanks to my team because they give me a lot of support. I’m looking forward to the next weekend. Tomorrow I have a scan in Barcelona to see if I need surgery before Le Mans.”
Tom Lüthi:
“Unfortunately, I could not make the steps forward I was looking for in the race. I keep on going and fighting and I’m looking forward to spend some time with the team next week. I’m going to do some training with the team and Bo all together. I’m going to try to enjoy and get the head a little bit cleaned out before going back to Switzerland and prepare for Le Mans. I feel sorry for the team that I cannot get any better results at the moment but we keep on believing and working. We hope to make a step in Le Mans.”
