No luck in #StyrianGP as Manzi finishes 18th and Garzo crashes out of 8th

 In Moto2, News

After a good Saturday of qualifying, both riders went to the race convinced that they were fighting to be in the top 10. The Spaniard on the FlexBox HP 40, Garzó, made a good start and quickly moved into the first group. Overtaking his rivals, Garzó was climbing positions until he reached eighth position, at which point he crashed with 7 laps to go. A pity to close the weekend like this after the good performance that he was doing.

Difficult race also for Manzi. From the seventeenth position the rider of the FlexBox HP 40 started and did not make a good start. Despite this, he has been setting his pace and regaining positions, but a long-lap penalty has put an end to his aspirations and Manzi has crossed the finish line in eighteenth position.

Stefano Manzi

Today’s race didn’t go very well. We started from a good position but I didn’t have a great pace. It was a shame the long lap I had to do since I lost 8 seconds and at that moment I lost all option in race. A shame. We will work hard next week to fight again in the top 10 positions.

Héctor Garzó

Today’s race was a shame. We started very well and we knew we had the pace to fight to be in the top 10. With 7 laps to go, with the soft tire we have chosen I suffered a crash and it was a shame. We have been competitive once again and we have the potential to be on top. Next week we have another chance and we will give it our all again. Thanks to the team and Sito for their work, as well as the sponsors.
