Diggia narrowly misses top 10 with 12th in #AustrianGP, 22nd for Bulega
Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 had another challenging race at Spielberg, with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Nicolò Bulega far from the top at the chequered flag.
Both standard bearers of Gresini Racing in the intermediate class of MotoGP were unable to make the definitive step forward to be protagonists, although Fabio Di Giannantonio was still able to secure his so-far best result at this venue in this category – in a race that was affected by scorching temperatures.
No points in the bag for Nicolò Bulega, who crossed the line in 22nd place after a double long-lap penalty. The rider #11 did not manage to find a solution to the corner-entry issues he has been experiencing as he was 18 seconds away from the top 15.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
I would like to start by saying that we can’t be happy with this result. Having said that, we did a good race under conditions that were a lot worse compared to last week. I did a good start and battled for the top ten until the end. I would like to thank the team because we worked extremely hard and managed to improve a lot throughout these two weeks.
NICOLÒ BULEGA
We struggled a lot with this heat. Unfortunately I had no feeling with the front-end and we struggled both on corner entry and exit. Fortunately we’re going to a track like Silverstone, one that I like a lot more and better suits my riding style.
