 In Moto2, News

A difficult race for the Sky Racing Team VR46 at Motorland in Alcaniz where the Aragon GP was held today. Marco Bezzecchi was forced to retire after a crash while Celestino Vietti recovered up to the P15.

Started from the third row, Marco immediately tried to close the gap from the top guys. Climbing up to the P6 and in the slipstream of the group fighting for the podium, he crashed during the 9th lap before being forced to retire, 3 laps later, due to the damage suffered on his Kalex. With today’s zero he confirms the P3 in the general standings (179 points).

Good recover and good race pace for Celestino who started from the P26 and crossed the finishing line in the points area, thus continuing the streak of positive results.

Celestino Vietti

Overall, it was not a bad race. It was a very hard weekend, we did a lot with the Team and we managed to find something positive but we are still not so happy. Let’s take the positive towards Misano and continue to work on our weak points.

Marco Bezzecchi

Definitely not the race we hoped for: yesterday in qualifying we weren’t perfect, but we knew we had a good a pace, we showed it again today in the warm up. The goal was to recover as many positions as possible in the early laps and take full advantage of our pace. Unfortunately, the crash was not needed.
