Johann Zarco 12th in #SanMarinoGP, Jorge Martin forced to retire after a crash

 In MotoGP, News

A difficult Sunday for Team Pramac Racing, Johann Zarco finished in 12th position whilst Jorge Martin was forced to abandon the race with 16 laps to go. Johann Zarco was not able to make the most out of the start of the race, and lost a few positions. The French rider, however, was able to find a good race pace, but a small mistake in the first sector penalized him with a long lap penalty. He consequently lost all hope of being able to fight for the podium and finished in 12th.

Jorge Martin, after a great start and a duel with Quartararo for the third position, made a mistake and slipped out of the race. The Spanish rider tried to restart but was forced to return to the box just a few laps later.

Johann Zarco

Not the result I had hoped for. I didn’t start well and immediately lost a couple of positions. As soon as I was able to regain a good race pace, I made a mistake in T1, and was given a long lap penalty. After this, it was impossible to come back and stay with the leading group.

Jorge Martín

It’s a shame; I was riding well. I was in the leading group and could have fought for the podium. I made a mistake and slipped. I then tried to restart but the bike was moving too much; I didn’t want take further risks.
