No points from #SanMarinoGP for Jeremy Alcoba
Jeremy Alcoba put together a good comeback in today’s race at the Misano World Circuit – despite the lingering pain in his left hand. The standard bearer of Team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 crossed the line in 17th place, barely missing on a top-15 finish, to wrap up a racing weekend that had not start on the right foot. The Spanish rider leaves the Faenza-based team’s home Grand Prix empty handed, but with a recovered feeling with his Honda machine #52. This is a good starting point for the upcoming races at Austin and Misano.
Speaking about the other side of the garage, Gabriel Rodrigo has chosen together with the team and the Gresini Racing management to sit out the US Grand Prix scheduled for the first weekend of October. The goal will be to make a full recovery from his left-shoulder injury and be back to full fitness for the second event of the season at Misano.
JEREMY ALCOBA
It was a difficult race. The hand still hurts and in order to compensate I put more weight on the right arm in order to make sure the wound not to open again. I must say I’m quite happy: we basically started our weekend one and a half days later than the others and as soon as I realised I had to focus more on my riding style than on the set-up changes, things went a lot better. We did our best lap-time of the weekend in the warm up and we showed a good pace in the race. In fact, if it wasn’t for the early race traffic, we would have been able to stay with the second group and to battle at least for the top ten.
