Points finish for Taka with 15th at #EmiliaRomagnaGP

Takaaki Nakagami demonstrated typical determination to claim a points finish at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix despite an early fall. After a weekend dominated by wet conditions, Sunday’s race took place on a dry track, but the LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider had to settle for 15th position after sliding out on lap ten and rejoining.

The day had started in encouraging fashion for the Japanese star as he topped the morning warm-up session for the fifth time this season. He then made a good start in the race as he made up a number of positions on the opening lap, but in pushing hard to make further progress he went down on lap 10 and had to focus solely on seeing the chequered flag.

Unfortunately, before the start of the race I had some issues with the rear feeling of the bike and I knew it was going to be difficult. I had a good start, but I as mentioned I had a bad feeling on the rear and we don’t really know what happened. We’ll look into it and hopefully can find out what happened in the race. But anyway, we got one point after rejoining the race, so it wasn’t the best day, but we have to look forward to the next race and keep pushing.
