Diggia wraps up Moto2 journey with #ValenciaGP podium, 24th for Bulega
The long-awaited podium finish arrived at the most important (and final) moment of the season courtesy of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2’s Fabio Di Giannantonio. This is the perfect way to transition into the new chapter of his career with the Faenza-based team.
The Rome-born rider led the race on many occasions, with some impeccable riding on display. Di Giannantonio only had to surrender for the win to Fernandez, who still had (little) hopes for the title. Today’s 20 points give the Italian star the seventh position in the final standings.
No glory on the other side of the garage for Nicolò Bulega, who finished the year with 24th place-finish. Only 12 points in the season, which give him the 26th place in the final standings.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
We wanted this result very badly as it was important to close this chapter of my career with the podium. We tried to get the win until the very end, but Raul had something more. We did a great race and I’d like to thank all the team for the work done this weekend. Now MotoGP awaits, already from tomorrow.
NICOLÒ BULEGA
It’s been a very difficult season and this weekend was no exception. We were never competitive and it’s a shame, as I wanted to finish with a good result. I would like to thank the whole Gresini team for these seasons together, it was a good journey.
