5th place for Marini in the #GermanGP, Bezzecchi 11th
Another solid weekend in the top 10 for Luca Marini at the German GP which took place today at Sachsenring. Riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP, the rider of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team crossed the finishing line in P5, hitting the best result of the 2022 so far and equalling his best placement in MotoGP (Austrian GP, 2021). Marco Bezzecchi, 11th at the finishing line, closes just a few tenths behind the tenth place.
Starting from the P7 after a good qualifying, Luca managed the very high temperatures that characterised the weekend at his best, conserving energy for the end of the race. In P9 halfway through the race he climbed up the standings until the gap from the fight for the podium was reduced to less than a second. With today’s points he is in P13 in the Championship (52 points) on the eve of the Dutch GP which will take place next Sunday.
Nice recovery after a difficult start for Marco from the fourth row. Forced in the middle of the group after the start, he recovered to the limit of the top 10, second today among the rookies but still the best rookie in the general standings (P17, 35 points).

A great race, I really enjoyed it! The key was to better manage the rear tyre, a detail that I hadn’t looked after so well in Barcelona. A pity for yesterday’s qualifying, the third row is not bad, but on this track the first or second row would have allowed me to fight for the podium. I had a good pace, we worked well thanks to the whole team and Ducati and we have to be patient: it will come! We continue to stay focused, take care of the details and work hard towards Assen.

A very difficult condition from the start: I practically never had grip but I didn’t give up. I tried to give my all in this survival race and to take the points home. At the end I tried to change the pace, but I didn’t want to take too many risks. I’m happy for myself and the whole team and can’t wait to get back on track in Assen to finish the first half of the season in the best possible way.
