Alonso Lopez wins the #SanMarinoGP, DNF for Fermin Aldeguer

The + EGO SpeedUp team wins the San Marino GP race with a superlative Alonso Lopez who takes his Boscoscuro to the top step of the podium for the first time, while a crash on the seventh lap puts an end to Aldeguer’s promising race.

Davide winning against Goliath, the perfect description of what the talented rookie did today at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli riding the Boscoscuro bike. Leading the race from the second corner Alonso Lopez, after an excellent start, dominated all the way to the chequered flag, scoring his first superb victory.

Despite the excellent sensations and a convincing start to the race, Fermin Aldeguer crashed as he tried to advance and get closer to the leaders. A bit of bad luck for the youngest of the +EGO SpeedUp team who had shown he could do an excellent race alongside his team mate.

The next round of the Moto2 World Championship will be on Spanish soil at Motorland de Aragón 16/17/18 September.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 1st

I have no words to express what I felt! In the last ten laps I had goose bumps, I didn’t believe it and I tried to keep my concentration steady so as not to make mistakes. Honestly, I didn’t know I had this pace because with the hard tire it wasn’t easy to set the time. I’m really happy for Luca who is developing a sensational bike with so much passion and I want to thank my family and those who support me once again because I wouldn’t be here without them!

FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: DNF

I keep the positive of this weekend because we were in the race again today and we had the potential to do well. We crashed when we were in seventh position, trying to catch up with the riders in front of us. Fortunately, a crash without serious consequences that motivates us to give our best in the next race in Aragón!
