The Red Bull KTM Ajo riders experienced a demanding race at the Aragon Grand Prix, ending with Dani Holgado taking a first Moto3 World Championship podium by crossing the finish line third, and Jaume Masia earning eighth place.

Holgado held his third position on the grid on the opening laps, and rode intelligently to stick with the front group. Pushing hard, he was able to establish enough of a gap over his rivals to achieve his first podium finish in the Moto3 World Championship. With 83 points, he is now ninth in the overall standings.

Masia started the Aragon Grand Prix from the third row. He maintained his position and remained within a large group as he matched the high pace of those around him. Involved in constant exchanges of positions in a battle for the top 5, he took the chequered flag eighth. The Spaniard now occupies fifth place in the Moto3 standings with 155 points.

The next round of the season, the Japanese Grand Prix, takes place at Motegi from September 22th-25th.

DANI HOLGADO

I’m very happy to have achieved my first podium in Moto3. It was a tough race, with a very high pace. Until halfway through the race I was even thinking about the win, but this result was so important that I didn’t want to go overboard with the risks I took. The team also deserve it because we are working very well. Japan will be a new circuit for me, but we will be very motivated and want to do well.

JAUME MASIA

It was a very difficult race. We worked hard this weekend and yesterday in QP we were able to salvage the situation and start from the third row. The pace of the race was very high and we fought hard to stay at the front. In the end we finished in the top 10; it’s time to keep improving and do even better next week in Japan.
