Racing incident ends Taka’s hopes at #AragonGP

 In MotoGP, News

Taka Nakagami’s hopes at the Grand Prix of Aragon were ended on the opening lap of Sunday’s race at MotorLand Aragon by a racing incident with Marc Márquez. The LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider came together with his HRC colleague and went down heavily, but fortunately avoided serious injury following the dramatic incident at turn eight.

It was a disappointing end to what had been an encouraging weekend for the Japanese star who was also fastest in Sunday morning’s warm-up session. Departing from the fourth row of the grid, Taka made a good start and was challenging for a top 10 spot after the opening corners, but then contacted with Márquez and slid along the track causing damage to his right hand.

Takaaki Nakagami – DNF

Unfortunately, I had an unlucky Sunday. I had a good start, but then had an accident on lap one. I had contact with Marc (Márquez) and had a nasty crash, so I’m really disappointed. I’m now going to Barcelona to check the wound on the 4th and 5th fingers on my right hand. I will keep everyone updated and really appreciate all the support from my fans. I will try my best to recover and hopefully we can race at my home GP in Japan.
