#JapaneseGP qualifying sees fabulous performance from Zarco and Martin who go from Q1 to 2nd and 5th
Incredible day for both Prima Pramac riders who managed to turn a difficult situation into a near masterpiece. The day started with a great performance by Jorge and Johann who finished second and fifth in FP2, but yesterday’s times are valid for FP2.
Due to the bad weather, FP3 is skipped and it is back straight into Q1, where Johann and Jorge place in the top two positions, gaining access to Q2. Zarco with a time of 1:55.214 is on the front row, behind only Marquez. Jorge Martin will start from a valuable second row with the fifth fastest time (1:55.686).
Johann Zarco
Very very happy, an important front row, considering the day I had today as I risked starting eleventh. I have a good pace both in the wet and in the dry, we can do well.
Jorge Martín
I’d say I can be very happy. We could have started really behind but instead we did a great job. I am really satisfied and very excited for tomorrow.
