Celestino Vietti 10th in #ThaiGP, Niccolo Antonelli 22nd
A race with surreal weather conditions – with Celestino Vietti in P10 and Niccolò Antonelli 22nd – for the Mooney VR46 Racing Team in Thailand with the red flag eight laps from the finishing line due to a very violent storm that hit the area around the circuit. Regularly lined up at the start, the Teams were surprised by a pouring rain that forced the organizers to suspend the race after only eight laps and to assign only half of the points.
Starting from the fifth box of the grid, Celestino struggled to immediately gain the right confidence riding his Kalex and slipped to the limits of the Top 10. With today’s points he confirms the fourth place in the general standings with 162 points. Similar fate also for Niccolò from P28 and relegated to the rear of the group.

A real shame, because after the first few laps I had found a good pace and was moving up the rankings. Maybe I should have taken more risks after the start and immediately put myself in the slipstream of the group. I’m sorry, we lost some more points even though I finished the race after a series of unlucky GPs. Now we recover this week and close the last three races of the season in the best possible way.
Niccolo Antonelli
A really complicated GP: from the back of the group, the view was totally compromised by the water. I made a lot of mistakes in the first two laps and I have lost contact. I was hoping to restart after the red flag, but there was not the necessary conditions.
