Solid ride to 19th at #AustralianGP for Nagashima
Tetsuta Nagashima put in another solid display at the Australian Grand Prix as he finished Sunday’s MotoGP race in 19th position. Deputising for the injured Takaaki Nakagami, the LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider completed all 27 laps of Phillip Island to gather more valuable data for HRC in the first premier class event at the Victorian venue for three years.
In dry, sunny conditions at the spectacular coastal lay-out, Nagashima got a good start and made up positions on the opening lap. He then settled into a rhythm and battled with Fabio Di Giannantonio for most of the race, edging out the Ducati rider on the line to cap a positive weekend.
Tetsuta Nagashima – 19th
Today was a tough day as it was the first time riding with the (MotoGP) group at a fast track like this. It was difficult, but overall this weekend we made a step forward. I couldn’t follow the group, but I learned a lot and tried lots of things during the race. In the end I had a good battle with Fabio (Di Giannantonio), I followed him and learned some things and finally beat him which was quite good. I want to say thanks to the team, they were a great help to me and gave me a good bike, overall I’m really happy.
