Excellent 4th and 5th for Canet and Garcia as they fight back from penalties in #ArgentinaGP
PONS WEGOW LOS40 leaves Argentina with a smile on its face after the great performance of its two riders, Arón Canet and Sergio García, in a race held in wet conditions.
From second position, Canet started the race ready to fight for the victory but a penalty at the start for moving slightly at the start -double long lap- would mark his options in the race. Far from being discouraged, Canet imposed his pace and approached the podium area, crossing the finish line in fourth position and adding 13 more points to his locker that keep him in second position in the overall standings.
Impressive comeback of his teammate, García Dols. The young PONS WEGOW LOS40 rider started from 28th position and had to make a long lap penalty due to an incident in Saturday’s qualifying session, and after doing so, García Dols surprised with his quick adaptation to the bike and the difficult conditions of the track, climbing 23 positions and taking an excellent fifth position.
Arón Canet, 4th, +7.769
After a double long lap penalty, finishing fourth is a good position. We enjoyed the race but not in the positions we wanted. It’s a pity, but now we have to think about Austin and continue to be competitive.
Sergio García, 5th, +11.954
Today we had a very difficult race due to the track conditions and the fact that we had to do a long lap, but I am very happy with the result and the feeling of the bike. We made a great comeback, from 28th to 5th position, so we can be happy. I want to thank my team for the work they have done all weekend and I’m looking forward to Austin.
