The Moto2 riders who arrived at the Americas Grand Prix leading the overall standings, Tony Arbolino and Pedro Acosta, have maintained a beautiful battle throughout the whole race, which ended up with the Spanish taking the win. With this victory, Acosta has already won two races this season and sees how the gap to the Italian has been reduced to seven points. To complete the podium, Bo Bendsneyder and Jeremy Alcoba also had a nice fight that has finished with the Dutchman taking third place, getting the first podium of his career in Moto2.

Izan Guevara has ended the wait for his first race as a Moto2 rider. The Spanish has lapped comfortably on the Circuit of the Americas and has finished the race in twenty-first position. Guevara has worked on his pace to continue getting a better feeling with the bike and will be looking for further improvements in the following races. His Asterius GASGAS Aspar teammate Jake Dixon has crashed during the warm-up lap and has not been able to participate in the third race of the year. The British rider was unlucky this weekend and will try to redeem himself at the Spanish Grand Prix.

21st Izan Guevara (+51.450):
“I’m happy to complete my first Moto2 race, although I took it as just another training session. We are improving step by step working on our pace. Today we have lapped in similar times to those of the qualifying session. We have to keep working and we are already looking forward to Jerez.”

Jake Dixon (DNS):
“I have nothing to say. I didn’t do anything different, I just rode. For some reason I went down and couldn’t continue. It’s shocking for me, but when something like that happens it’s out of my hands. It’s difficult to deal with this situation, but that’s what it is.”
