Podium for Canet with 2nd place in #CatalanGP, season best for Garcia in 4th

Arón Canet and the PONS WEGOW LOS40 team were just a step away from the first victory of the season today at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Sito Pons’ pupil, who started from second position, led most of the race and it wasn’t until the final stages that the victory was at stake. He finally crossed the finish line in second position, achieving a new podium and culminating a good weekend.

An excellent weekend also for García. The young PONS WEGOW LOS40 rider continues to take steps forward in the category and throughout the race he was with the first group. Close to the podium, he crossed the finish line in fourth position, achieving his best result in Moto2.

Arón Canet – 2nd +0.205

I’m happy with the second position today, although with a bittersweet taste. We had a great race, good management, although it’s true that today we lacked a bit of top speed on the bike, but we could have fought for the victory and we missed it by just a little. I’m sure it will come and we’ll try again in Misano.

Sergio Garcia – 4th +2.258

Today I am very happy with the result we have achieved, fourth! I’m also happy with the pace we set in the race and I want to thank the team for their good work. Now let’s think about Misano, let’s go for more!
