Eleventh for Alex Marques in the #SanMarinoGP and 17th for Fabio Di Giannantonio
It was a long and extremely hot race at Misano, with the Ducati machines of Team Gresini MotoGP unfortunately not among the protagonists. Only Alex Marquez managed to score a few points as he crossed the line 11th at the Italian venue, with a bit of a gap from the other Ducati riders this time out.
It was an uphill race for Fabio Di Giannantonio, who was limited both by a difficult starting position and a not-perfect fitness condition after yesterday’s crash – with the shoulder pain that did not go away overnight.
Official testing will begin tomorrow from 9am. Only Alex Marquez will be on track for Team Gresini, with Fabio Di Giannantonio who will concentrate on his painful shoulder.
11th – ALEX MARQUEZ
“I’m angry, because we surely had some more to give, but qualifying is more crucial than ever nowadays in a GP. We started well and had the pace, while staying behind Oliveira and Marc I knew I could have been faster, but then I began experiencing some issues with the front-end of the bike and from then on it was more about survival. We need to keep our heads down and the results will come.”
17th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“It was one of the toughest races of my career. We were starting too far back, but I had the pace and managed to recover some positions before a coming together happened in front of me, in which I almost ended up hitting Pirro. The left shoulder was hurting so much and even contemplated retiring. Then I grit my teeth and continued. Today’s positives were the race pace and the experience made.”
