Liam Lawson to Race for Oracle Red Bull Racing in 2025
Yesterday Oracle Red Bull Racing announced the departure of Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez. This morning they have announced Kiwi Driver Liam Lawson is taking his place in the team in 2025.
Lawson was initially set to race with Visa Cash App Red Bull F1 Team after finishing the season with the last six races replacing Daniel Riccardo, Lawson’s best finish during that run in the VCARB was 9th on two separate occasions scoring points in both the 2025 United States Grand Prix and the São Paulo Grand Prix.
Lawson has previously been successful in Super Formula and DTM where he finished both of those championships second. Lawson is stepping up into the seat next to Max Verstappen leaving Yuki Tsunoda at VCARB and waiting for his new teammate which is yet to be announced. The current likelihood is that Formula 2 runner up Isack Hadjar will replace him.
